About Pamela Moody

Dancing since the age of three, Pamela has been involved in fitness training since 1982 and has instructed dance, aerobics, and personal training prior to changing the focus of her work to non-traditional forms of training in 1991.

Pilates Instruction

Pamela first learned the Pilates Method as a student in the dance program at Point Park College (now Point Park University). Pamela became a Certified Pilates Teacher through the Pilates Studio® of New York under the tutelage of Romana Kryzanowska in 1993 and opened her first studio in her hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In addition to her Pilates studies, Pamela has also studied Laban Movement Analysis, Feldenkrais, Alexander, Body-Mind Centering®, Gyrotonic® and Gyrokinesis®‐ all of which are added tools which she uses to train her clients.

 

Yoga Instruction

Pamela’s yoga training began with her first class at age fifteen and includes studies in Iyengar, Anusara, Kundalini, Jivamukti, Andre Lappa, and Ana Forrest styles as well as traditional classical hatha yoga. She has over thirty years of yoga teaching experience and is certified by Integrative Yoga Therapy. Pamela Moody is one of the few practitioners in the Greater Saint Louis area qualified to provide Ayurvedic Health Counseling. Her instruction includes alignment, pranayama, mudras, and bandhas as appropriate for your practice.

 

Mentor and Entrepreneur

Pamela moved to the Midwest in 1995 and opened the Integrated Body Studio, LLC – the first studio in the St. Louis area to offer Certified Pilates instruction. She has conducted workshops in the Pilates Method in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois and taught at Washington University – St. Louis.

In 1999, Pamela earned her Master’s degree in Kinesiology from SIUE-­‐Edwardsville and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
